Without suitable treatment and septicity control, sewage and wastewater can cause damage to the environment and potential public health issues.
One of the main problems associated with this is odour – when bacteria in the wastewater utilise all the available oxygen and reduce any sulphates present to sulphides, creating the unpleasant ‘rotten egg’ smell associated with sewage.
OMEX supplies a range of sodium nitrate and calcium nitrate solutions to help prevent these issues which can occur.
Septicity Control with Anomex
Anomex are blends of sodium and calcium nitrate for simple and accurate dosing.
Why use Anomex?
Hydrogen sulphide is typically the major gaseous component with the typical ‘bad egg’ smell, detectable at very low levels. The lack of air supply, stagnant areas and warm temperatures all promote undesirable biological activity, which results in severe acid corrosion and septicity causing severe damage to sewers.
Anomex has been developed for effluent treatment to prevent sulphide gas build-up by substituting nitrogen into the microbial respiratory processes, reducing metal corrosion of tanks and pipes and removing unpleasant odours.
